My Favorite Online Posts This Week!

I’d like to start a little series–a weekly post where I bring together awesome blog posts and articles from around the web and put them in one place for you to read at your leisure.

It’s my way of sharing with you posts that I’ve read that have inspired me or brought me some information that I believe you might find helpful as well.

Enjoy!!

Motherhood

“Raising His Child” by Susan Macias.  This is an insightful post on what it means to be a mother–from an experienced mother of older children.  My favorite quote from her post:  “Our job is not to change our children, but rather to train their hearts to be strong so that their sin nature will not destroy or distort the Master’s design.”

“5 Things Our Daughters Need to Hear About Their Bodies” from thehumbledhomemaker.com.  This is such a great read!!  I feel like I need to print this and read it once a month now that I am expecting a little girl.  I think that in this day and age, these ideas even apply to little boys too!

Saving Money/Holidays

“5 Top Things to Buy in November” from frugallyblonde.com.  This article helped me mentally prepare what to be on the lookout for in the grocery store this month so I can maximize my grocery savings.

“5 Ideas to Simplify Christmas & Save Your Budget” from moneysavingmom.com.  My little family is going to try to do all 5 of these this Christmas season!!  This is our first Christmas away from family, so this is the perfect time for us to simplify the holiday and focus on making our own family memories and traditions.

Life of a Nurse

“What You May Not See About Your Nurse” by Brie Gowen.  Some insights into what nurses are really feeling when caring for patients from the perspective of the nurse.  My favorite quote from her post:  “You won’t see the reality of heartache, grief, and emotional loss that your nurse is experiencing right along with you. I think this is because if we let it out, we might never be able to reel it back in, and our skills would suffer under the strain of too much flow of feelings.”

As we end this week, I hope you’ve enjoyed at least one of these posts from around the web as much as I have.  🙂  May your coming week be filled with awesomeness!!
