Coming Series!! My Favorite Websites and Apps for Saving Money

I’m excited to try something new here on the blog!  I am going to do a little series on a topic that is a very real part of my everyday life.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be writing a blog post every Monday and Wednesday detailing a specific website or app that I use to save money.

Why is this important to me?

My friends and family, and anyone who knows me even half-way well, knows how much I love to save money.  I’m afraid I have the reputation of being, well, CHEAP.  Necessity is the mother of invention, and I’ve “invented” my own personal style of saving money out of necessity in my childhood and then in the first years that my dear hubby and I were married.

I’ve once again hit a season of money-saving-necessity, and it has made me seek out even more ways to save money.  There have been many tips and tricks for saving money that I’ve picked up over the years, but I never would have picked them up without someone actually sharing that seemingly simple tip.

That’s why I’d like to put together an informative list of websites and apps I use to save money so that you don’t have to hear about them one by one.  I’m also giving you a detailed description of how each one works so that you can decide if it’s right for you without wasting your time starting something you won’t be able to keep up with right now.

I’m realizing I missed out on a lot of money I could have saved if I had only heard about some of these a long time ago.  I hope I can help you get started NOW and not miss what you could be saving–especially since we are in the holiday season!!

Why should this be important to you?

This is for everyone.  Whether you are on a tight budget, or you just want to be smarter with what you have–no matter what season you are in, there are free resources out there that enable you to make your dollar go farther.

This might be something that enables you to save a little extra here and there so that you can treat yourself and your family to that meal out.

This might be something you tackle head-on so that you can pay for Christmas next year with no money out of pocket.

Whatever your money-saving goals are, know this:  YOU CAN DO IT!!  I believe in you!  I wouldn’t share what works for me unless I thought it could work for you too.

What exactly will I be covering?

I am going to cover 3 websites:

  1. Swagbucks
  2. Ebates
  3. National Consumer Panel

And 5 smartphone apps:

  1. Checkout51
  2. Ibotta
  3. Saving Star
  4. Receipt Hog
  5. Yaarlo

Will you join me on this journey?

I’m really excited to be taking this opportunity to pass along some money-saving tools you might not have heard of or considered before.  I’ll be as detailed as I can, and I would be glad to answer any questions you might have.  Feel free to comment on each post with your questions and I’ll answer them to the best of my ability!!

Come back here on Wednesday (11/9) as we tackle our first money-saving website:  Swagbucks!!
